Three compelling reasons to connect with us on social media

Some of you have probably noticed that we are taking methodical steps to expand our ‘social media’ presence. We’ve recently started a weekly newsletter. In fact, that’s probably why you’re reading this now. In addition to our Monday business-focused blog, we are doing a Friday blog that could be about any topic under the sun, from what it’s like to be a staffer in our industry, to crazy call-off excuses, to zombies and everything in between. We are doing everything we can to grow our Facebook page. Soon we’ll be focusing on Twitter and beyond.

Why are we doing this? What do we hope to gain? What’s in it for you?

Allow me to explain!

First of all, there’s no denying that we are a business and we are in business to make a profit. We are a staffing firm, one among thousands in this country. However, our corporate culture is built around bedrocks like faith, family, community, integrity and hard work. We hire people who genuinely want to make a difference in their communities, who genuinely want to help people find jobs and help businesses find employees. We hire people who care, because we care.

Our mission statement reads, “Our mission is to provide exceptional customer service through teamwork and integrity, establishing successful and prosperous partnerships with our clients and associates.”

We don’t want anyone working for us who isn’t completely on board with that. Our jobs, after all, are about the relationships we develop with those we help and those we service. Without those relationships we don’t exist as a company.

That’s all well and good, but what does that have to do with social media, you ask? Well, social media is a wonderful, inexpensive, effective way to express ourselves to the world. WE think we’re a great company, but do you? If you understand us, maybe you would like to do business with us. If you understand us and don’t want to do business with us, that’s OK too, but at least you’ll know what we’re all about.

So, naturally, we’d like to see as many people as possible within our area of business (and even outside it!) join our Facebook page. So what’s in it for you? Several things!

1.) Keep up with our current job postings. After all, jobs are what we do! Every day we get new positions from our awesome clients. Every day we talk to people about the jobs we have. Are you looking for a job? Do you know anyone who is or could be looking for a job? Do you think there is a possibility you could be looking for a job in the future? Joining our Facebook page and signing up for our newsletter are great ways to keep up with us and the jobs we post.

What’s in it for us? Posting jobs to our newsletter, website, and Facebook is cheaper than the newspaper!

2.) Special contests and promotions. We just completed a $50 giveaway, and are getting ready for an even bigger one, and an even bigger one after that. (Shhh – don’t tell anyone, but there’s even talk of giving away an iPad at some point.) Being connected with us and receiving our updates will keep you abreast of any contests we are having so you can enter them and (possibly) win! There’s also some fun charitable stuff in the works where you can earn money for charities just by being on our page. It’s a win-win!

What’s in it for us? There are no strings, but contests do help us expand our social reach, which is a good thing for all the reasons above. Regarding the charitable contributions associated with any social media promotions or other things we contribute to – well, without being too self-promoting – that’s just how we roll.

3.) The cool things we post and plan to post. We don’t post a whole lot, maybe 3 times or so per weekday, but we try to look for cool, inspirational, and interesting things to brighten your day. Additionally, we want to make our blog a fun, interesting weekly distraction.

What’s in it for us? We get to let the ‘world’ know what we’re all about!

So, if you haven’t already, please consider joining our Facebook page! Sign up for our newsletter! You’ve got nothing to lose, and at least three things to gain!
